Paris Hilton still being pampered and costing the state money, unless she really is crazy.

Leave it to Paris Hilton to spend more state money than any other inmate. Since she is pretending she has severe medical issues, she has to be kept in the special medical ward, which costs $1109.78 a day versus the normal costs of $99.64. Now if she really needed the medical assistance that badly while in jail, she would need it outside of jail as well. But we all know what Paris does when she is not in jail, and its not cry and not eat, its party and booze! And I must say, if she is medically this bad off, I don’t think daddy Hilton should be planning a release party in Las Vegas but instead needs to subsequently enroll her into a psychiatric ward. Because really, if she has to have this much medical aid to get through the jail visit she has serious other issues that need to be addressed. Mary Tiedemen, Director of the ACLU, whatever the hell that means, said this about the condition a prisoner needs to be in before getting into the medical ward:
Mary Tiedeman, who monitors jails for the ACLU, told the AP Hilton is being housed in an area usually reserved for high-security inmates or those with severe health problems: “I don’t know what her health issue is, but you have got to have a pretty intense medical or mental health problem to be in that part of the jail.”
And even Rick and Kathy Hilton gave a tidbit about their daughter’s “awful” stint in jail, stating:
“She’s very scared…..It’s tough in there. It’s cold.”
Out of everything to complain about, such as the fungi outbreak the jail has experienced, they complain about it being cold??? I am sorry, but if the worse thing you can complain about in jail is it being to cold, I think you are going to be okay. I highly doubt that is the main complaint of the normal peasant prisoners.
So fans of Paris…..is the BITCH really crazy and needs to medical attention or is she just faking?? Not that being one or the other makes it better, either she is crazy or a liar so which is it??? Let me know….

Poor Paris being cold! I think the main problem for this whole thing is that for the first time of her life Paris Hilton is on her own. No one to suck it up!She’s having medical problem? Serious medical problem? Nobody figure out yet that she might be an addict or has an alcool problem that is serious!!! She’s sober for more than two days now and with a clear mind she figure out how dump she’s being and how disconnected her ”fancy life” is. Can’t blame her, she has be raise that way but I guess it’s a bad wake up!!

Most of all, it say a lot about your state Graham!! You think Paris will be grateful you took her side??? I’m just saying that we are all suffering at one point or another but we don’t need to make it a international story about it and I don’t feel too sorry for her, if she’s is that cool and smart she will get out ever bigger and better. 23 days in jail is far from the end of the world there. Try not eating for a couple of days, or having 2 jobs to make ends meet. She will be fine!

I think the first poster has the right idea. Paris Hilton is showing signs of alcohol and drug addiction. Why else would she be going through this “traumatic, emotional experience?”
Look, I can’t begin to tell you how many problems I had when I was a teen. I even had a mental breakdown at age 15. In spite of all the “trauma” I endured, I worked through it, learned to talk to other people for help and worked on my heart and personality. I’m the happiest I have ever been and I owe it all to good ole natural mental breakdowns. No pill cured my troubles; GROWING UP did.

Well, it is kind of hard to figure what the hell is up with Paris. On one hand, I feel kind of sorry for her, because I’m sure this IS the worst experience she’s ever had. What I mean is, her frame of reference is different from the typical person’s (whatever “typical” really is). To a starving African, this would probably be the BEST experience he or she ever had (aside from isolation from family, which would make it lonely, but comfortable, anyway).
I think what everyone has written here makes some degree of sense, depending on how you look at it.
I find it interesting to imagine how it must be for Paris being forced to live in her own head for awhile, seeing how she sure doesn’t have much in the way of distractions. Of course, her head has probably been a pretty empty place up until now, so maybe the girl’s having to learn how to think.
For what it’s worth, my understanding is that jail medical wards aren’t your average hospital rooms with windows and adjustable beds. Apparently the main difference is that there is more surveillance and nurse-type staff to look in on her once in a while to make sure she hasn’t found some way to knock herself off. And truly, I cannot imagine Paris Hilton EVER killing herself–not that way, anyway. She’d be one hundred times more likely to meet her end behind the wheel of a car she was not supposed to be driving…
I’m betting that Paris will want to kiss the ground once she’s sprung, and will probably have adopted a kind of humble, philosophical outlook and behavior, BUT I don’t think it will last. You know how it is, you go somewhere strange and you almost forget what home is like, but once you’re back it’s almost as if you were never gone.
Can a rich girl ever learn how to straighten out her act?
I guess we’ll all have to stay tuned to find out, and as much as people are annoyed by her, there’s something about Paris Hilton that just makes us want to look.
Maybe for some of us, she’s a kind of amusing distraction from the really serious, depressing shit that’s going on in the world. Everyone needs a break from that once in a while.
